由於我的essay總是喜歡寫些爭議性的題材，因此在一個偶然的機會下知道了這部片，

一直沒有時間好好的觀賞，直到最近放假，才想到就來看一下，

不看則已，一看發現，驚為天人阿!!!實在太好看了，沒有殺人放火也沒有姦淫擄掠，

竟然可以把每個角色的情緒刻劃的如此深刻，難怪會被列為十大禁片之一。

看完後整個人會感到非常的沉痛悲傷，那種心情的沉重很難用文字形容，

真的會非常的想哭，是一部非常灰暗的電影，無

這讓我無法用英文來練習寫簡介.....

迷上癮(Requiem for a Dream) (2000)

本片改編於Hubert Selby Jr.的同名小說，敘述四位主角在使用毒品之後的命運。

Requiem for a dream was adapted from the novel by Hubert Selby Jr. The novel describes the fate of four subjects after the use of drugs.

主角Harry (Jared Leto)在父親去世後與母親同住，卻在他染上毒癮後離家。Sara (Ellen Burstyn) 是主角Harry (Jared Leto)的媽媽，終日沉迷於看電視，某天接到電視台打來的電話，告知她被選中即將上電視。Sara欣喜若狂，並且希望能穿上當年她跟老公參加Harry高中畢業典禮的紅色洋裝，然而因身材的變形，迫使她選擇服用減肥來穿下紅色洋裝。減肥藥中含有安非他命(Amphetamine)，Sara在不知不覺中上癮，用量越來越大終至發瘋。

The male lead Harry (Jared Leto) lived with his mother. When Harry became a drug addict he left home. Sara (Ellen Burstyn) is Harry’s mother, her hobby is watching TV. One day Sara got a call that told her won a chance to participate on a TV show. She felt ecstatic. She wanted to wear the red dress which she wore on Harry’s graduation many years ago. In order to lose weight and regain her young look, she started using slimming drugs.

Ellen Burstyn的演出超搶眼，我認為在這角色中想要訴說的是一個"支撐重心"與"存在感"。她在寡居的生活中，除了電視什麼都沒有。突然間"上電視"變成了她生活的重心，她終日幻想著上電視得到了優勝，兒子會帶著女朋友來見她，當她的無法再從電視上看到幻覺時，她不自覺得將藥量增加至2倍，3倍，結果造成了她的妄想症越來越惡化，冰箱變成了會動的物體，卻還是等不到電視台的通知。在崩潰的邊緣，她穿著她的紅色洋裝跑到電視台詢問，什麼時候可以上電視...

As a result, Sara unwillingly became addicted to drugs. She began to suffer from amphetamine psychosis, and started suffering from delusions. Her delusions got worse and worse. On the verge of breakdown, Sara wore her red dress running to the TV station, asking when she could be on the show...

"I'm going to be on Television."

"I just wanna to be on the show."

Sara不斷的說著"I just wanna to be on the show."， 聽著真的讓人心痛，除了這個她什麼也沒有，除了這個她什麼也不是，最終因為精神病且治療不順利，醫院使出了最後手段: 電擊治療，然而這也是不成功的，Sara似乎就此失去了理智，活在她的幻覺當中

Her desire to be on the show was clearly visible to the viewers and it made them pity her slightly.  The cure was unsuccessful and she became mentally ill.

Harry和女友 Marion(Jennifer Connelly)以及他的好朋友Tyrone(Marlon Wayans)則是海洛因(heroin)成癮者，

他們的想法很簡單，他們各自懷有夢想，希望能靠著販賣毒品賺錢來完成他們的夢想，

一開始他們真的有賺到錢，但因為保釋Tyrone，毒品價格不斷上漲以及付了錢卻因故沒有拿到貨，

使得Harry及Tyrone不得不開車前往邁阿密買批發的產品， 期望能把失去的錢賺回來，

而Marion禁不起Harry的要求，希望能有錢可以買毒品，她下海賣淫賺錢，

又因為錢付了卻沒有拿到貨跟Harry鬧翻，毒癮上身不得不繼續賣淫並且從事性表演以換取毒品，

Harry, his girlfriend Marion (Jennifer Connelly), and his good friend Tyrone (Marlon Wayans) were Heroin addicts. They had their own dreams, hoping to rely on trafficking drugs to earn money to fulfill their dreams. At first, they did earn money. However, Harry paid most of their earned money to bail Tyrone when he was imprisoned. In addition, due to the inflation of drugs, they didn't get the goods. Harry and Tyrone had to drive to Miami to buy wholesale drug, hoping to gain more profits from this feat. Harry and Marion brake up with each other because of financial problems. After the brake up Marion offers sex trade and does sex shows in exchange for money and drugs.

Harry在與Tyrone開中前往邁阿密的途中，Tyrone發現Harry的手臂因為注射太多的毒品而引起感染，

但Harry不以為意，仍然繼續注射毒品，最終卻因為感染嚴重而送醫，

醫生發現他們是癮君子，於是通報警察將他們帶走，

Tyrone在獄中遇到有種族主義的獄警，辛苦的做勞動服務，Harry則被監獄轉移到醫院，手臂被截肢。

Harry’s arm got an infection because if the injection of too much drugs. At the hospital the doctor realized that he was an addict and informed the authorities. In jail Tyrone encountered many racist prison guards. They made him work very hard. His arm had to be later amputated because of the infection on his arm.

Harry在監獄時打了通電話給Marion，Marion問他什麼時候回去?

Harry只能絕望的告訴Marion，他很快就回去了， Marion流下了淚，她知道Harry是不會回去了(他也無法回去)，

Harry made a phone call to Marion when he was in the prison. At that time, Marion asked him when he would be back. Harry was hopelessly told Marion, He would soon be back. Marion began to cry she knew that he would never come back.

多麼沉痛的結局，我覺得整片有呼應著" for a dream"，Sara夢想著上電視，Harry夢想著賺到錢能創業，Tyrone夢想著脫貧不要再住在貧民區，Marion則是夢想著能夠開一家自己的精品店，一切都單純的只是為了一個夢想，這些微小的夢想都有可能發生在生活週遭，但dream卻帶著他們走向毀滅。其實在看的時候心裏壓力真的滿大的，吸毒是不對的，但卻又同情起片中的角色，尤其是Ellen Burstyn，她的生活感覺就是一般中老年人會遇到的狀況，老伴不在了，子女又離家，她還剩下什麼?在毫無希望或是絕望底下若沒有一個目標支撐著，真的很難自我肯定，本片不單只是探討毒品，我覺得重要的是心理層面， 那種無助感與身處於社會的邊緣，才是被列為十大禁的原因之一吧。

What a lamentable ending. I think the whole movie has echo the movie title "requiem for a dream." Sara was dream to be on television. Harry was dream to earn money to have his business. Tyrone was dream to leave slums. Marion was dream to have her own boutiques. Everything was so simple for a dream, but the dream took them into destruction.

本片運用了許多拍攝技巧，如魚眼效果，切割畫面，縮時攝影，時間的快慢(象徵著吸毒前後)，以及使用吃藥、注射、瞳孔放大、血管的變化等來讓觀眾了解吸毒後的快感，在當時來講(2000)，應該算是相當前衛的拍攝手法了!當然，配樂也是深深的touch到心靈層面，真的會有一種"多麼痛的領悟阿"的感覺，那種小人物的迷惘、焦慮、煎熬以及不安全感，就值得細細的品味一番。

很諷刺的是，Harry只是很單純的想和 Marion幸福快樂到老，這簡單的夢想卻是如此難以實現...

Ellen Burstyn當年因此片獲得奧斯卡女主角的提名，隔年Jennifer Connelly因美麗境界(A Beautiful Mind)獲得奧斯卡最佳女配角獎，而十多年後，Jared Leto也因藥命俱樂部(Dallas Buyers Club)獲得奧斯卡最佳男配角獎，也無怪乎本片在影評上獲得極高的評價，演員硬底子的功力也不容忽視。

我從小就喜歡看一些探討人性或心理題材的電影，所以超推本片，但因為太過黑暗，請先有心理準備!

Because of this movie, Ellen Burstyn was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress. In the following year, Jennifer Connelly won Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her supporting role in the movie A Beautiful Mind. In addition, Jared Leto won him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in the 86th Academy Award. No wonder that the film won rave reviews, the actors profound acting cannot be ignored.
